Loved it! Colorful, art (maker space) themed museum!
This museum did have some more "industrial type elements" mostly due to the robots, but other examples include the colorful painted metal stools, exposed ducting, and some concrete columns. The vibe definitely was of a loft art space (white walls industrial), but all of the children's at, bright colored furniture, and color in additional places "Warmed" the space and made it very enticing to children.
One floor museum, which seemed to have 3 main spaces: young children's "artville", the hub (a creativity space dedicated to art, music, and makerspace), and special exhibit area (robots!).
The evening was themed for the special exhibits of robots - walking painted silver robot ladies, robot paintings, robots in display cases, hanging gears and cogs, and robot exhibits.
There were lots of digital elements: large touch pad table (had our endless alphabet app on it), mounted i pad space for young children on wood boards with a loaded drawing art app, and digital screens in nearly every exhibit.
Other digital elements per Wess include: in the sound igloo an xbox kinect that was attached to motion activated speakers, there was a beams dj motion activated sound exhibit where children could mix there own beats, there was also a driving robot ipad.
There were multiple ways to interact with each exhibit for example: draw a robot, build a robot, race a robot, read facts a bout a robot, robot art, robot history.
Children's art was an important part of the museum - straight away off of the entrance was a mural / collage that appeared to be made by children.
There was a large back patio area that seemed to serve itself well to special events, as well as a secondary building in the back also for events containing tables, fridge, bathrooms.
